Where has the water gone?
From late summer, the water in Lake Bütgenbach is drained to make room for meltwater. The result is a fascinating and unique landscape that is well worth discovering!
Tip: Take a walk around the lake and let yourself be enchanted by the tranquil and perhaps even wintry atmosphere.
Activities in the off-season
The low season in Worriken also offers numerous opportunities to stay active and enjoy time together – whether indoors or outdoors. There’s something for everyone here:
- Treasure hunt & village rally: explore the neighbourhood in an exciting way! With the treasure hunt and village rally, you can experience adventures and get to know Worriken and Bütgenbach at the same time.
- Swimming: is free for overnight guests. However, please note: Due to the annual house cleaning, the swimming pool will be closed from 29.11. to 20.12.2024.
- Tennis & squash: Whether singles or doubles – our tennisand squash courts invite you to take on sporting challenges. Perfect for working out!
- Disc Golf: Test your skills with a round of disc golf. This modern and entertaining activity will delight young and old alike.

Worriken is ideally located: Nearby you will find many attractions such as the slate galleries of Recht, Reinhardstein Castle and the picturesque High Fens with its nature park centre. Cross-country skiing directly on site
If there is enough snow, the cross-country ski trails are tracked and you can put on your cross-country skis directly on site. Overnight guests receive a 50 % discount on ski equipment hire!
