Adventure hike
The Worriken treasure hunt is an exciting hike on the beautiful, large grounds of the Worriken sports and holiday park. You will discover wonderful places on the shores of Lake Bütgenbach.
Technical data
The hiking route
- You can follow the route using the map on Google Maps or the map in Outdoor Active (you need a free Outdoor Active account). In both cases, you need to switch on the geolocalisation of your smartphone.
- You can follow the arrows for the treasure hunt (see photos).
- You can read the route on the treasure map (see photos), which is available at Worriken reception.
The treasure hunt
Along the route you will see 3 types of signposts:
- Arrows
- Sabres
- Skulls
The arrows indicate the path you need to follow.
The skulls mark the places where a task must be completed. There are altogether 27 tasks or puzzles to solve.
You have to count the sabres.
At the end of the hike comes the last task, a 28th ultimate question, which is in an envelope that the group leader carries with him/her and which is only to be opened at the end: The result of this last question is the number code that can be used to open the lock of the treasure chest.
What's in the treasure chest?
The treasure chest is located at reception.
What’s in the treasure chest?
- Either you fill the chest yourself
- Or you order “the treasure” in advance at the reception.
Examples
from what you can bring to fill the treasure chest:
- You can put sweets in it for a birthday party
- Company gadgets for a team-building event
- Fun items for a stag party
Let it be something as a memento of a fun and adventurous day with friends or colleagues!
Time and duration of the activity
When does it take place?
The treasure hunt can be organised all year round.
However, the start and arrival must be within the opening hours of the reception.
How long does it take?
Allow 40 minutes for the walk and 2.5 hours for the treasure hunt with puzzle solving.
However, the duration of this activity mainly depends on the group dynamics!
Afterwards, you can enjoy a cosy get-together in our restaurant, enjoy some eat and drink and reflect on the adventure.
This is what you need for the treasure hunt
Those who wish to complete this tour as a treasure hunt will need the following:
- Questionnaire
- Treasure map
- Envelope with the final task ( to be opened at the end)
- Treasure chest with treasure, which you can either deliver yourself or order at the reception in Worriken
Price
- You pay nothing for the adventure hike.
- You pay 10 euros for the booklet with questionnaire, treasure map, envelope and use of the treasure chest.
- If the treasure chest is filled by Worriken, you also pay the price for the contents provided by Worriken (the contents must be agreed in advance at reception – please note the opening times).
For whom?
The treasure hunt is a fun activity for all ages, even if the challenges are experienced differently.
For the kids, doing the maths and solving the puzzles is the biggest challenge, for the adults, getting physically to the puzzles is the biggest challenge: some tasks are located on a tree trunk or in a pipe, to name just a few examples: Peanuts for children, but a challenge for adults.
Very suitable for birthday parties, team-building events, stag parties…
